FAQ

How to proceed with the coronavirus Test?

Whether your staff member is looking to self-administer this specialized COVID-19 test or the rapid results kit will be used by a Company Nurse or other Occupational Health Personnel member, the process is simple:

Collect blood sample

Use the Lancet Device included in the kit to obtain a drop of blood for testing.

Add blood sample to Test Strip

Place 2 drops (20 ul) of blood onto the clean Test strip.

Place 2–3 drops of buffer

Add 2-3 drops of buffer solution into the well.

Read results after 15 minutes

After 15 minutes, a single indicator line should be made visible for simple result reading.

How To Read The Result?

A total of three Detection Lines have the potential to be displayed. The Control (C) line appears when the sample flows through the cassette

Negative Result

If only the quality control (C) line appears, then NO novel Coronavirus antibody has been detected, and the result is Negative. If the control line doesn’t appear, the test has been unsuccessful and needs to be repeated.

Positive Result, M only

If both the quality control line (C) and the detection line M appear, then the novel Coronavirus IgM antibody has been DETECTED, and the Result is Positive for the IgM antibody.

Positive Result, G only

If both the quality control line (C) and the detection line G appear, then the novel Coronavirus IgG antibody has been DETECTED, and the result is Positive for the IgG antibody.

Positive Result, G and M

If the quality control line (C) and both detection lines G and M appear, then the novel Coronavirus IgG and IgM antibodies have been detected, and the result is Positive for both the IgG and IgM antibodies.

If both the quality control line (C) and the detection line G appear in the detection window then the novel coronavirus IgG antibody has been detected. This indicates a later stage of infection. Therefore, you have previously had the COVID-19 infection, within the last 6 weeks of taking the test.

Results are within 10 minutes after the blood sample and buffer have been combined in the testing device’s sample well.

IgM is the first antibody produced by the immune system. A positive IgM test indicates that a person has been infected and has begun to mount have an immune response to the virus. IgM antibodies disappear soon after the virus has been cleared from the body. A person with a positive IgM test may still have an active infection and should self-isolate.

.

In most patients, IgG antibodies develop 7 to 10 days after symptoms of COVID-19 begin. The results of this test may indicate that a person has had COVID-19 in the recent past and has developed antibodies that may offer protection from future infection.

Antibodies can provide protection against re-infection, although strength of the protection and how long the protection may last varies by disease. People with antibodies may have a level of protection against SARS-CoV-2 re-infection, although researchers are still determining the level of protection.

The medical device contained within our kits has an EC-Declaration of Conformity with the Essential Requirements Annex I of the Directive 98/79/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 1998 on in vitro diagnostic medical devices. The sensitivity of our immunoassay is 97% diagnostic sensitivity for IgG detection, and 95% diagnostic sensitivity for IgM detection.

A negative test result means that the antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19 were not found in your sample. However, it is possible for this test to give a negative result that is incorrect (false negative) in some people.

A negative result may occur if you are tested early in your illness and your body hasn’t had time to produce antibodies to infection. This means that you could possibly still have COVID-19 even though the test is negative. If this is the case, your health care provider will consider the test result together with all other aspects of your medical history (such as symptoms, possible exposures and geographical location of places you have recently traveled) in deciding how to care for you.

It is important that you work with your health care provider to help you understand the next steps you should take.
